Laughter has a way of instantly connecting people and is one of the most basic and fundamental ways in which we communicate as human beings. But can laughter increase our empathy? Well the short answer is yes! Laughter can help us to become kinder, more patient, more tolerant, more sharing and more caring; because at the heart of therapeutic laughter lies loving kindness. It helps us to build stronger social connections and increases our emotional intelligence and this workshop will explore how – with practical exercises centred around connection, listening and kindness – and with lots and lots of laughter!
The session will include games, exercises and laughter yoga (fun laughter exercises with deep breathing) and will culminate in a laughter meditation, relaxation and Loving Kindness Meditation. Be prepared for your cheeks and your abs to ache – but also be prepared to embrace a roller- coaster of emotions and maybe even shed a few tears…
